I have been drawing since the day I could hold a crayon in my hand. My first love was elephants, but when I received my first My Little Pony at the age of 3, it was all down hill from there. I became horse obsessed! I started taking riding lessons at 7 years old and worked my way through the ranks in both eventing and hunter/jumpers. I was fortunate enough to have a horse of my own after graduating high school. Tailor came to me as a retired grand prix jumper. We got off to a bit of a rocky start in the beginning. Tailor was worn out from years of pounding on his joints, but time and TLC healed his wounds (physically and mentally). Tailor and I developed a bond so strong, he'd jump the moon for me if I asked him to. I decided that Tailor was my forever horse and as people find soul mates in life, Tailor was my "soul horse". He passed away peacefully in his 20's on 6/6/06. I have owned several other horses in my life, but alas am horseless at the moment. I still ride as time and finances permit. I currently reside in Napa, CA with my husband who has been so supportive of my artwork and he encourages me every day. His is also a contractor and is brilliant with wood working. We are hoping to combine his building skills with my artistic skills to create custom wood plaques, jewlery boxes, coasters, etc.

One of my earliest drawings. I was 4.
I am a physical therapist by day, artist by night. I am completely self taught and have relied on years of trial and error and advice from artist friends along the way. I have dabbled in graphite pencil, charcoal, colored pencil, pen, soft pastel, acrylic painting and pyrography (woodburning). Though originally an equine artist, I have expanded my art into other animals such as cats, dogs and even a guinea pig. I officially began selling my artwork in 2007 and have steadily built up a clientele. I've won first place in both the drawing and painting divisions at the Napa County Fair. I actively donate custom portraits to fundraisers. I draw off my emotions and I really feel as if I get to know the animal as I draw him/her. I've been blessed through my artwork and my ability to meet wonderful people and their pets.
